The Family I Genesis 16-20

Genesis 16 tells the raw story of a pregnant slave, a passive man, and a God who sees. In the waiting for God’s promise, Sarai and Abram take matters into their own hands - revealing the dangers of pride, passivity, and trying to accomplish in the flesh what only God can fulfill by promise. But in the middle of betrayal, mistreatment, and misery, God meets Hagar in the wilderness and reveals Himself as El-Roi, The God who sees. This week we wrestle with where we’ve been passive, where we’re in misery, and where we're trying to do something, only God can do.
